O brother dear

O brother dear,
don’t you remember me?
Your quiet shadow-twin,
sentenced to disappear.

O brother mine,
have you forgotten why
they said just fools are vain,
drunken with plain disdain?

O brother dear,
it was the same gray clay
that made us look the same
and who we are today.

O brother mine,
bravo to your success!
I cheer from my new address;
you’ve lost it, I profess.
