Shapes of scars

Shapes of scars, a map of pain
embroidered in discolored skin.
Is this is all we will attain?
Is it all we’ve ever been?

Longitudes and latitudes,
carved into the flesh and mind
remind of senseless attitudes,
needless wars, and pride so blind.

Disappointed in revolutions,
fathers who betray their sons;
I rest my head on concrete cushions,
lullabies are sung by guns.

I’ve been hiding in security;
make of that what you will.
I’m a faded tapestry
coming undone, silently.

With the thread of fallacy
the lovely lie begins to fray.
Nothing changes, now I see,
only I won’t be the same.

  2. Oh my touch by this poem this blew me away. Thank you for taking the time to share these poem through these motivational words

    These words are painted in truth, experience and perspective. I especially love how you started it(
    Shapes of scars, a map of pain)

    and how you ended the write up (only I won’t be the same).

    Beautifully written and as I read through again on each line I was amazed . Each word you used are true and reflective of my personal encounter with people

    This produced a smile on my tired face after a long day. You’re appreciated.

    You are welcome Mr Troy
